I am sorry to report that Gayle Wilcox (Cali) passed away on January 23, 2024 after begin diagnosed with bone cancer in November. She lived in Port Orford, Oregon. This has been reported to us by Jay Dohner. At this point, we don't have anymore information but will update when we have more details. On a personnel note, I was friends with Gayle from middle school through high school. Having band in common, we enjoyed many of the same parties, band rehersals, performances, and trips. Also, we enjoyed spending time with a great group of friends. I always remember her with a smile.

I am so very sad to see this. I met Gayle in 6th grade. She was smart and kind and fun! We had some good times together and shared a friendship with Susan Bryan. The last time I saw her was at our 40th. We walked up to each other and saw the same thing in one another's eyes. She said it first; it felt wrong that Susan Bryan was not there. We talked about how much we missed and loved her. We promised to stay in touch. We did for awhile. I wish we had done better. She was so compassionate and caring.

I only knew Gayle from a 'distance', I believe it was through Adelia. I am always very saddened whenever I find one of our Alma Mater brothers or sisters has passed. Such ocassions are as extremely sad as they are somber. A comforting, perhaps warm thought however, is that our memory of all these great people will live large in us until the day we all see each other again... for what will surely be the grandest of all reunions. God Bless and Keep Her.

Same as Ray, Gail and I were in the same class from kindergarten through high school. I didn't really know her too well, but she was always a class act. Sorry to see her go.

I did not know Gayle well during during High School. I really got to know her years later through the scholarship set up through Amador Valley Scholarships, The George Jacobson-Brent Wilcox Memorial Scholarship. We would connect twice a year to pick and award the scholarship. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. Gayle was a sweet, caring woman. She would always greet me, "how ya doing Kid?" I will miss her๐

Very sorry to hear bout Gayle. We had many classes together during high school and, I think, we were in the same class in 8th grade at Pleasanton Elementary. Always nice, my memory of her as being kind, witha big smile.

Just saw about Gayle. She had a great smile and laugh. Lots of times in High School sitting for lunch on the lawn having descussions and fun times. We are all getting older. I can only pray that each of our classmates had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For many years I did'nt , I have told myself at times like this I need to be bold and express the love of Christ. Perhaps if we ever have a runion again, we can all share laughs, tears and memories of our youth.

I, also, am one of those who started in kindergarten and went all the way through high school. Gayle was always a special part of that group. But my most significant memory of her was talking with her at the 40th(?) reunion. She was so warm and gracious and full of life. We spoke for a long time and I remember thinking I would love to keep up with her. Very sad to hear of her death.
