Comments:

OK, since I didn't make it to the reunion, here's a summary life story. After completing undergrad (Berkeley), I spent 4 years in the army as an infantry officer, mostly in Alaska. Got out and, after a suitable period of debauchery to celebrate and trying out some of interesting jobs in Alaska for a little adventure, I moved to Washington, DC, and went to work as a computer specialist for the Dept of Defense. There I was also teaching as an adjunct at a small college in Maryland. I returned to Alaska after a couple of years and continued to work in computing, for various employers, until by a series of unfortunate events I ended up as the state's CTO. I retired early 50's from that and, having somehow completed graduate work in my spare time, was qualified to go to work as a professor (computer science) at the Univ. of Alaska. From there I retired yet again. My wife Mary, our youngest son Liam, and I moved to western New York to take care of her aging mother, who has since passed away, and also, so our son could get to know Mary’s part of his family. We purchased an historic farm, complete with a decrepit, anti-bellum cobblestone farmhouse built in 1840. We completed renovations on the house and planted a small personal vineyard of 450 vines plus over 100 fruit and nut trees. While waiting for the vines to mature, I worked as an IT project manager, replacing Niagara County's financial and payroll systems. Forward 8 years, I retired again (from NY PERS), this time getting it right (now finally not working!). We sold our farm (it was getting to be to much work) in Oct, 2015 and moved to Tucson, where we traveled when it was hot and spent the rest of the year hiking, biking, and pursuing hobbies like improving our Spanish and gardening. We also occasionally manage some old friends' B&B in the high country so they could get away and travel, and we could meet their eclectic guests. We moved back to western NY and are living in a small, brick house in South Buffalo amongst my Irish-catholic wife's 50-or-so closest relatives.

School Story:

So many great memories. For some odd reason, one that sticks is the look on Eddie Jones' face after getting his foot run over by the sophomore float homecoming night, and him hopping around. Who knew floats made of paper mache were so heavy? Another is having lunch outside one day with Ken Greathouse and a few others. A gull flew over and let go on Ken's head. Now, I'm sure that doesn't fit with the dignity of being a corporate exec, but even back then he handled it with aplomb and humor! Anyone else remember sliding downhill on large ice blocks on the freshly watered grass on warm nights at Castlewood's golf course? The things we remember...

Mike was a great guy and a terrific athlete. I remember well the group of guys who Tony Alvrez is alluding to. They used to play soccer together, since 4th grade, and formed the heart of the early team at Amador when many Americans were still finding out what a great game soccer was. Anyway, beside all that, Mike was always fun to be around. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Very sorry to hear bout Gayle. We had many classes together during high school and, I think, we were in the same class in 8th grade at Pleasanton Elementary. Always nice, my memory of her as being kind, witha big smile.

Man Pete, wished I'd aged like you did - other than hair color, you don't look older! Amazing.

I rarely go to the class site, but just did. I can't say how sad I was to read the Dave passed away. We had great times together back in high school.  Last time, I saw him, now 30 years ago, he was teaching at Amador, living in a wonderful home in Pleasanton, and had a lovely wife and daughter. I'm glad he was able to have "the American dream". He was a warm, funny, and vibrant guy, and a good friend back in the day. Condolences to his family and especially to you, Rich.

My wife cooked up a label for our first "vintage", a few bottles made from the old vines just for the heck of it. (It's the farmhouse we renovated and now live in)
