To Philip Aubin' Family ... Sorry for your lose. Farewell Aubin! Tony Abreu (Mario).
Yes, Mark I do remember Burger Pit in Dublin. I was so happy when I worked my way through the ranks of the restaurant business positions there to cooking on the large "show" charcoal BBQ grill for the customers to watch the grill activity of 50-60 sirloin and New York steaks or more at one time. Customers were so fascinated watching me flip and poke steaks determining whether they were rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done without cutting them open to tell. It was fast paced, entertaining, and a skill that added to a collection of cooking skills learn at different restaurants which lead to a 20 year management career of large seafood restaurants until I switched to a horticultural career which lead me to working 21 years at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Glen ? the Burger Pit owner was very helpful for those teenagers willing to work hard, and be professional. Which reminds of a few friends in addition to you that worked there as busers, dishwashers, and linemen. Do you remember the clowning antics of Mark Campbell, Loius Fiori (?), Craig Williams (Fluff) when we were both serious and professional? Do you remember Kirk Pope, Dan Lieski, and others that would come in near closing to see if we were joining them to party, cruise the San Leandro strip, or go racing our cars on a Friday or Saturday night? Lots of stories! I remember being scheduled for the night cooking shift for the day of the Altamont Raceway outdoor rock concert out east of Livermore. Mark Campbell drove, me and others to the concert site the evening before the big day to party and mingle with masses of people. We had no idea that the highway back to Dublin near the end of the concert the following day would delay us from getting to the work for our Burger pit scheduled work. We eventually made to work and Glen was "pissed off" at us especially at me for causing him to worry and letting him down for the first time ever in 2 years. However, though I felt absolutely terrible about letting him down, I had no regrets about the wild time of being part of a unique historical rock event. I hope that you have not loss a family or good friend to the COVID-19 virus! Be safe and smart! Best Mario

Hi Mike! I recently received an Amador High message regarding the planning of our 50th reunion. Since then both Kirk Pope and Dan Lieski mentioned that they may be attending if it happens. Do you think that you and Vicki might be coming to this reunion? Best regards, Mario

Hi Kirk! Long time...I think the last time we got together was here in Albion on my 60th and your BBQ talent cooking those fantastic BBQ oysters! I see that the 50th Reunion is being planned for 2020. Will you be attending? If so, let me know, because I would prefer to attend if you, Lieski, Hinshaw, the rat pack of 1970 showed up.
